The Tahoe 2 was a perfect choice for our 40-acre estate. We selected total log construction and added an additional four feet to the upper walls. The custom features already available as standard in the Tahoe package offered us the best floor plan and more livable floor space at very competitive costs. This design is easily modified and greatly increases the living enjoyment of this log home.

Winter conditions in Grand County, Colorado, can be severe. The Swedish Cope profile gave us an airtight fit between logs and no "chinking" was required during construction. The home is always warm even on the coldest day. The "rustic grade" log finish completes the appealing rustic look to an already quality design.

In the spring of 2000, we started the construction of our dream cabin in Island Park, Idaho. However, our excitement rapidly turned to frustration as the contractor we had chosen slowed progress to a snail’s pace. By mid-November our contractor disappeared, busy with other projects. We had to button up the half-finished project for the winter ourselves.

We recently purchased logs from and had our home built by Snake River Log Homes. After 20 years of dreaming and planning, our decision to go with Snake River Log Homes proved to be a great one.

Our logs, railing and other wood products were the top of the line, exactly what we wanted. There were no substitutions or shortcuts with the logs and materials used. Everything was of high quality at great prices!

The workmanship and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. The crews acted as if they were building this home for themselves. In addition, Snake River has checked back on us many times since completion to make sure that all was okay. There has been very little settling or shrinkage of logs, much less than what other log builders or distributors told us to expect. Snake River has seen to any adjustment in a very timely manner. Living 300 miles away from the job site was a huge concern for us. It soon became evident that things were going great without us having to be there constantly. What a welcome "peace of mind" feeling we had during construction.

As good as the materials and craftsmanship were, the customer service was the most impressive thing about Snake River Log Homes. Any question or concern, no matter how trivial, was only a phone call away. We spoke with the owner himself on many occasions and he was on the job site frequently. Also, the crew foreman and other subcontractors phoned us on a regular basis to make sure of exactly how we wanted things or to offer suggestions. We really felt that there was a genuine concern for our satisfaction and happiness.

All of your consultation and advice has already paid great dividends many times over! We are especially pleased with the "rustic grade" logs that you supplied.
